Halloween at Musipire, our music school in Elmhurst, Queens, looked a little different this year. Between piano, violin, guitar, voice and drum lessons, our hallways filled with witches, superheroes, a wizard, a bunny, a goggle-wearing helper and one very confident little devil. Students came to class in costume, and the whole school smiled.
A lesson day full of costumes
Lessons ran as usual: scales, new pieces, steady practice. There were just a lot more capes, masks and sparkly gowns in the room. Thank you to every family who sent their child in costume, and to our teachers and office team for joining the fun.

Why a happy music school matters
Children practice more when they love being at their music school. Days like Halloween remind our students that Musipire is their place: somewhere they feel comfortable, known and glad to come back to every week. That comfort is what turns a beginner into a confident young musician who is ready for the stage.
Next costume change: concert clothes
Our Winter Student Concerts run December 12 to 19, 2026: 8 concerts in Queens for students of every age and level. Next time our students dress up, it will be for their bow on stage.
